Your Day at LPEC

Our days for schools are extremely full and varied, and any preparation prior to the day will help children assimilate their experiences rather than being overwhelmed by them. Similarly follow up work in the classroom would be hugely beneficial.

The day takes place on two sites, near Laverstoke House, and Berrydown Farm, where the groups follow a trail which gives them a taste of what happens on the estate today and how it has changed over the years. Groups will start at one of the venues in the morning and swap over at lunchtime, with all groups having lunch near Laverstoke House.

  • To get from one site to the other, simply travel straight along the B3400 through Overton.
  • You should be prepared to take responsibility for your litter and return it to school.

Please Note

You should be aware that many of the activities being carried out on the estate can be dangerous and that the estate has made adequate provision for the health and safety of its employees and visitors. However, with the number of visitors attending, it is important that the children are made aware of the need to obey safety signs and barriers, and listen carefully to the safety information and instructions given in relation to activities being demonstrated, or those that they are involved in.

Before your visit to the farm we request you do a pre-visit farm visit and observe the Risk Assessment and complete the Risk Assessment form provided.  Click here for details.
