Who we are

Who we are

GreenFingered Entrepreneurs©, created in 2007 and supported by Laverstoke Park Education Centre, is working closely with the new DCSF 5 - 19 Enterprise Education Strategy. It is a fully inclusive project, mapped to the National Curriculum and is open to anyone, but especially schools and clubs. Greenfingered Entrepreneurs is also delighted to be supporting the Co-operative College in their development of the Young Co-operative Greenfingered Enterprise National Pilot, part of the SSAT's Enterprise Network and partnering with Virtual Schools.

GreenFingered Entrepreneurs aims to address issues arising from current, identified educational needs. Key learning-related links are: enterprise; healthy eating; food technology; environmental science; extended schools and learning outside the classroom through an approach with horticulture and garden design. GreenFingered Entrepreneurs has been developed in line with the Children’s Plan and the Every Child Matters / Every Child Counts agenda. GreenFingered Entrepreneurs is fully inclusive and accessible. GreenFingered Entrepreneurs requires a social entrepreneurial approach leading to sustainable businesses.  GreenFingered Entrepreneurs will run as social enterprises with a multiple bottom-line approach to include profit; environment and social corporate aims underpinned by values and business ethics. We believe that re-investment of profit to build next year's Greenfingered Companies and provide donations to a Charity of the students' choice is an integral part of the bigger picture.

GreenFingered Entrepreneurs©’ aims are to provide:

• a replicable and sustainable model.
• generic material for the role-out of GFE at National level and beyond [e.g. Scotland, Uganda and Finland where interest has already been shown]

and also:
• case studies.
• educational material to be freely available on-line.
• a core of mentors / buddies to cascade GFE beyond pilot stage.
