What does it mean to be part of GreenFingered Entrepreneurs?
Participating schools and clubs have:
- the opportunity to take part in a programme involving enterprising teaching, learning and leadership.
- a wide range of advice and guidance throughout the programme.
- links with other participating schools, colleges and other stakeholders.
- on-line learning resources.
- a wide range of teaching and learning resources.
- the opportunity to link GFE to your School Development Plan and Self-Evaluation Forms, with the possibility of TLA accreditation.
- curriculum links to enhance your core activities including: enterprise education; maths; English; science; geography; IT; art; modern foreign languages; design and technology; PSHE; citizenship; food technology and healthy eating, whilst taking you beyond the base-line.
- links with the Children’s Plan, including Every Child Matters and Every Child Counts and especially ‘achieving and enjoying’ and contribution to the community’.
- opportunities for learning out of the classroom which Ofsted recently highlighted as having ‘contributed significantly to raising standards and improving pupils’ personal, social and emotional development’. especially where ‘it was an integral element of long-term curriculum planning and closely linked to classroom activities.’
the opportunity to influence:
- GreenFingered Entrepreneurs©’ development.
- the monitoring and evaluation of your students’ progress and the impact of the programme.
- national roll out of Greenfingered Entrepreneurs©.
- case study material – especially cross-curricular.
- transition planning for your students.
- developing a sustainable and replicable model.
and will need to provide:
- the commitment of the Head Teacher and SMT in support of the programme.
- a dedicated, named teacher to co-ordinate GreenFingered Entrepreneurs.
- sustainability provision for continuity of GreenFingered Entrepreneurs.
- specific parental consent to use images for dissemination/roll out nationally?
- dedicated time for GreenFingered Entrepreneurs© to best suit your own needs.
- growing areas (including windowsills).
- parental, governor and School Improvement Partner support and involvement.
- normal due diligence procedures e.g. risk assessment and supervision of students.
- transport when required.
